Illustrations for "The Master and Margarita"

This Bulgakov classic continues to inspire generations. With its dark symbolism and haunting atmosphere, it presented the perfect challenge for an illustrative project.

I explored several iterations—ranging from highly detailed renderings to digital drawings—but ultimately chose to use the original ink and charcoal sketches. Despite the intricacy of the other versions, none captured the essence of the work as powerfully as the rawness of the sketches.

All the illustrations depict a specific scene or character from the book, including Behemoth, Woland, and Azazello.
